2022 YouthSpeak Contest

OC Human Relations’ annual YouthSpeak Speech Contests is a county-wide search for the top human relations speech written and delivered by high school students.

The theme for 2022 was “Resilience”. Orange County High School students were invited to submit a short, inspirational speech on how they have found pockets of joy or resilience during a global health crisis and continued racial injustice.

After reading through a multitude of high-quality entries and listening to the speeches of the short-listed students, the Board of OC Human Relations chose a speech by Chinonye Omeirandi as the winner. Chinonye delivered her speech at our May 12 Luncheon event to a standing ovation!
